CNC Skills TestingThe CNC Test Device is used to separate CNC operators and technicians by skill level. The process is used as a key device in the selection of training of CNC operators and technicians.

The candidate is given a part setup sheet, vice, tool holders, clamping kit, and all the tools required to setup and run a part as well as a demonstration on how to manipulate the CNC X, Y, & Z axis, and create and verify a tool table with the correct tool offsets. The candidate is timed as he works through four tasks, from setup through final QC sheet.

The CNC Selection-Evaluation Assessment program takes the uncertainty out of the hiring process. No longer will hiring managers need to hope a candidates possesses the skills and experience they represent. The assessment program separates individuals by skill levels, identifying the strongest candidates to drive productivity in your shop.

In additon, you can also evaluate your current team for placement into other departments thus maximizing your current workforce. Ownership includes assessment methodology training for incumbent(s) at your facility.

Our CNC Test equipment is also available for lease. SMT can conduct the assessments at our location, in your facility, or we can train your incumbents the assessment methodology.
